What to know more about the war in Bosnia?

The war happened between 1992 and 1995, systematic rape, torture and mass murder was the norm throughout the lives of the Bosnian people on daily during this period. Over 100,000 people died of its 4 million population, some referred to it as a genocide.

People were killed at point blank range if they were not forced to surrender, video footage that dates back to the 1992/1995 shows civilians running through the streets trying to escape the shrapnel and bullets fired by the serbian back militia.

ICTY army generals were prosecuted at the United Nations, the Hague in the Netherlands for war crimes, it was the first time anyone was successfully prosecuted for war crimes and genocide since 1945-1946.
