The BBC are being put under increasing pressure from the government mainly Tory backbenchers who have announced the BBC will see over 500 job cuts. The BBC though it remains competitive in a clustered competitive media and broadcasting environment.
The BBC continues to pay top earners too much and local and regional producers too little making it unsustainable in the regions, locally it tends to be out of touch with the people. Though the BBC has great programmes the Department for Sport and Culture continue to develop it impressive national news broadcaster Channel 4. Online streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and other large broadcasters such as ITV are almost bullying the corporation it has had its reputation tarnished on a number of occasions due to stars such as Jimmy Saville and then its coverage of the Sir Cliff Richard scandal
Though the BBC is a treasure and the public don't remain dissatisfied with licences fees or content though it's been diluted and the resignation of its Chairman, Tony in 2019 didn't help. Successful stars such as Chris Evans have made millions through the BBC and Hollywood a listers such as Angelina Jolie continue to keep the show corporation attractive to its viewers.
